MONADS IN SWIFT

Abstract

Monads are powerful constructs used in functional programming for managing processes with side effects, but also for modelling and building complicated computations. Monads are theoretically founded in Category Theory and widely popularised by the Haskell programming language. In this paper, we show how monads can be implemented and used in Swift, the new language for developing iOS and OS X applications.

NEURAL NETWORK BASED CLASSIFICATION OF BONE METASTASIS BY PRIMARY CARCINOMA

Abstract

Multifractal analysis emerged as an accurate tool for cancer classification, although the process needs complete automation in order to be applied in medical diagnostics. Once multifractal analysis of metastatic carcinoma is done, results are processed and a neural network classification, based on primary carcinoma, is performed. Goal of this research is to successfully apply multifractal analysis as an auxiliary diagnostic method.

A RELIABILITY EVALUATION OF OMNET++ SIMULATOR

Abstract

Purpose of this paper is to present reliability evaluation of OmneT++ simulation enviroment regarding wireless sensory networks. This paper also contains basic information about wireless sensory networks and various simulation enviroments that can be used for wireless sensory network simulation.

OPTIMIZATION OF PROCEDURALLY GENERATED TREES

Abstract

Lindenmayer Systems (L-Systems) are a method for procedural content generation, which has been used successfully for years. Their drawback is that the rules and parameters of the system must be manually constructed. Genetic Algorithms (GA) are a method for optimization of the existing systems. By combining L-Systems for content generation and GA for the system optimization, it is possible to reach new and high quality content easily, without need for a large amount of time to adjust the rules and parameters.

Robot Operating System and its implementation on PC architecture

Abstract

Prevalent problem in robotic development was that engineers lacked common platform for communication and collaboration. Every time they started a new project they needed to build software and hardware from the beginning. To overcome this problem various robotic platforms were developed and today’s leading platform for robotics is Robot Operating System (ROS). ROS is intending to be worldwide useful robotic operation system as well as for industrial applications and scientific research. The paper presents a main concept of the ROS, advantages and comparison of ROS and other frameworks used in robotics. PC implementation and using PC platform as a robotic controller is the main goal of the paper.

MOBILE ACCESS TO THE CLOUD USING THE MECHANISM MULTIPROTOCOL LABEL SWITCHING

Abstract

This paper presents one approach to the cloud via mobile devices. It analyzes the benefits of the cloud, virtualization and balancing resources in the context of mobile access. Describes one possible server infrastructures that support this approach. We have discussed the challenges placed before decision establishes the need to ensure data security. Examines the potential use of mobile access to the cloud brings organizations. The proposed directions for further research.

Identifying and extracting structured data from web pages

Abstract

This paper proposes a method for automatically identifying and extracting information that matches a predetermined criterion from one or more web pages at one or more web sites and automatically producing one or more extracted data-field names from the information extracted from the one or more web pages at the one or more web sites. The extracted information includes at least one extracted data-field value associated with one of the one or more extracted data-field names. If one of the extracted data-field names matches an existing data-field name in a previously constructed database including one or more data fields each associated with a data-field name and a data-field value, the method updates an extracted data-field value associated with the data-field name in the database. If one of the extracted data field names does not match any of the existing data-field names in the database, the method adds the extracted data-field name to the database.

Simulation of the real estate cadastre service

Abstract

In the last two decades, following Moore’s Law, computers have become a thousand times faster. This has enabled relatively quick execution of even the most complex computer simulations. In this paper one existing physical system has been analysed and simulated – the real estate cadastre service, with the goal of improving the efficiency of said service. Model of the cadastre service was defined via a block diagram, then coded into simulation using GPSS discrete time simulation general-purpose programming language. For the execution of the simulation, GPSS World integrated development environment was used. Simulation results gives us an insight into the degree of utilization of the system and its parts. Based on those results, new and more efficient cadastre model is introduced
